The Fab Fit take:

I’ve been excited to try a workout at Urban Athlete and when the owner recommended Urban TRX Pilates as something special that the  gym has to offer I jumped on it. I love TRX bodyweight workouts. These nifty straps take your body and turn it into a resistance machine. They take any workout up a notch so I knew this would be an added challenge to a Pilates mat workout.

The instructor Rita was a total delight. She wove TRX into everything from the classic Pilates 100 to planks with knee movements to lunges. This total-body workout used the full 45-minute class  in constant rhythmic motion.  While all major muscle groups were worked, the core was wrung out.

The class size was small, so Rita could pay close attention to everyone in class – including who has just been introduced to TRX bands for the first time.

Pistol squats are one exercise that I love to hate. They do wonders for the thighs and burn so so good. This is one exercise that TRX bands help to make a little less stressful on the joints.

See that smile on my face? That’s feeling the burn and loving it.  Stop in and try it out and take a look at the gym’s full schedule with a huge variety of workouts.
