March 30: Join us and Learn to Use Rituals to Make Life More Meaningful

(Grab tickets here)

Without meaning to, aSweatLife’s Chief Content Officer Kristen Geil started a book club for the internal team. In the March wellness round up that we created in collaboration with better-for-you brand N!CK’S, she called out a book that ended up striking a cord for all of us.

The “Power Of Ritual” is by Casper ter Kuile. He’s one of the driving forces behind a paper we’ve referenced a million times around here “How We Gather” and he’s SOMEONE in the podcast space: he’ll soon depart the “Harry Potter and the Sacred Text” podcast and is co-hosting the new “The Real Question” podcast, which I’ve already cried at twice.

So we decided to dedicate a night to the idea of ritual with our friends at N!CK’s. Kristen and I will talk through what lessons we took from the book, we’ll go through some exercises to create our very own rituals, and then, together, we’ll make dessert a shared ritual.

As Casper ter Kuile shares in the book, all a ritual really takes is “Intention, Attention, and Repetition.” (pg. 25 in the hardcover version).

You don’t need to have the book or to have read the book to attend, but we’re almost certain that you’ll leave wanting to read the whole thing for yourself.

And to make the ritual of a shared dessert completely accessible, N!CK’S will share coupons for complimentary pints for all who sign up.
