7 Crystals to Help You Achieve Your Goals

It’s been famously said that a goal without a plan is just a wish. Contrary to what our calendars and daily planners tell us, the best time for setting new intentions isn’t New Year’s or a birthday. It’s the day you feel a pull toward prioritizing that goal and investing in ways to enhance that vision.

Some create vision boards, write mantras, journal, or set intentions at the beginning of yoga practice. I use all of these tools to get clear on what I truly want and how it aligns with my authentic self. But to set these visions in motion, I bring crystals into my meditations to clear blocks and receive their unique properties.

You only need to gaze at a crystal to be mesmerized by its beauty and connect with its innate energy. If you’re feeling skeptical, the use of crystals dates back to the 4th millennium BC. If magical spells are a little too abstract for your taste, the Chinese have been incorporating them into their traditional medicine for over 5,000 years.

From love to an organized life, we chose seven common goals and asked experts to share their favorite crystals to help us manifest them.

1. Work/success: citrine

If you’re looking to advance in your career, start a new business, or diversify income streams, place a yellow citrine crystal on your work desk. Connected to the crown or head chakra, the vibrant stone possesses the joyful and intense energy of the sun.

Also known as the “Merchant’s Stone,” Keith Birch, crystal healer, reiki master, and owner of KSC Crystals, says citrine enhances confidence, creativity, and clarity, enabling you to make wise decisions and seize opportunities for professional growth. “Its energy promotes a positive mindset, amplifies focus, and increases productivity,” he adds.

2. Love: rose quartz

Tired of waiting to be struck by Cupid’s arrow? Take matters into your own hands — or heart — by wearing or carrying rose quartz. Known for its gentle pink hue, the stone’s energy opens the heart chakra, affecting our ability to give and receive love.

“Rose quartz invites more love, compassion, and positive energy into your life, enhances existing relationships, or attracts new love,” says Matthias Dettmann, a psychologist, astrologer, and tarot card reader. “It’s also a powerful force in fostering emotional healing and self-love.”

3. Organization: clear quartz

It’s no coincidence that we feel more productive when our surroundings are literally calm and collected. Studies confirm that reducing clutter and having a consistent schedule reduces anxiety and improves overall mental wellness. It should come as no surprise that the crystal responsible for invoking clarity and focus is the transparent clear quartz.

“It clears mental clutter, aids decision-making processes, and helps us set and achieve goals,” says Katie Huang, founder of Love By Luna and author of Crystal Zodiac: How To Enhance Your Life With Crystals. “Clear quartz also amplifies the energy of other crystals, making it useful for creating an organized and harmonious environment.”

4. New Beginnings: moonstone

Make a recent move, buy a home, or end a relationship? Big or small, we could all use extra support when navigating changes in our lives that can feel overwhelming or scary. Hold a luminescent milky white moonstone close to your heart when meditating.

“It reflects the cycles of the moon and carries a gentle, nurturing energy,” says Birch, which explains its connection to feminine energy and intuition. That energy helps us feel supported when pursuing new opportunities or feeling grounded during times of change.

Birch also notes that moonstones help us connect with inner wisdom and encourage self-discovery and personal growth while promoting a sense of calm and balance.

5. Motivation: tiger’s eye

Having options is one thing, but indecisiveness can trigger anxiety and catapult us into fear mode, making us feel stuck or frozen. Tiger’s eye possesses elements from both the sun and the earth, which is reflected in its honey-yellow and brown tones. It’s the “let that stuff go” crystal responsible for shedding unwanted emotions, promoting mental clarity, and restoring us to a peaceful state.

“Place tiger’s eye on the sacral chakra to ground and focus your mind to combat indecision and invigorate you with newfound motivation,” suggests Leah Shoman, founder of Dark Moon Crystals and author of Crystal Rituals by the Moon.

6. Creativity: labradorite

You don’t need to be Picasso to be artistically inclined. Creative thinking is necessary for any activity, whether you’re developing a business plan to rearranging furniture in your home. From increasing your brain cells (really) to alleviating depression, the health benefits of simple creative exercises like doodling and journaling are vast.

If you’re looking to wake up the right side of your brain, the mermaid-colored labradorite is associated with the third eye chakra, the seed of imagination and intuition. Dettman says the crystal inspires originality, enhances artistic expression, and fosters innovation. Having a creative block? Lean on labradorite to open a channel for experimentation and self-expression.

7. Health and wellness: amethyst

We all need a team of allies to support our physical and mental well-being. Why not invite calming amethyst into your circle of health? Easily recognized by its lavender shade, the popular crystal can improve your sleep health and calm your nerves.

Huang says it can also assist in overcoming addictive patterns and habits and support mental clarity and emotional stability. It’s also safer than any medical remedy on drugstore shelves, without any negative side effects.
