Wellness in Your Real Life: A Breakfast-and-Learn on 9/20

breakfast-and-learn

(Sign up for the breakfast-and-learn in September here)

The term “wellness” often goes hand-in-hand with feelings of “should” — but with busy lives and an ever-changing to-do list, prioritizing your personal health and wellness can feel unattainable.

“I really should be getting more sleep.”

“I should do the Whole30 next month.”

“I should make more time to journal.”

The more should’s you add to your routine, the less time it feels like you have to actually accomplish any of them. On Thursday, September 20, we’re partnering with evolveHer for a breakfast-and-learn to explore ways out of feeling like you should be implementing wellness practices to your day – and into real habits that make you feel good while doing them.

What’s a breakfast-and-learn with aSweatLife?

While we love working out in the morning, we know it’s not always feasible to get in that morning hour-long sweat session and be ready for work in time. We also know that feeling healthy, happy and productive can happen in many other places outside of the gym. We host breakfast-and-learns to create community during times that fit your busy schedule – like before work.

We partner with evolveHer on a monthly basis to convene over breakfast and hear from experts or about topics that you’ve told us you care about. In an hour, we meet new people, learn something new, and leave feeling prepared to take on the day with energy.

We hope you’ll join us every third Thursday through the end of the year for a different theme and different breakfast!

What can you expect from the breakfast-and-learn on September 20?

We’ll offer ways to approach wellness in a real-life, actionable way versus that pie in the sky. At this breakfast-and-learn, we’ll touch on productivity in the workplace, the power of positive psychology, mindfulness, setting intentions, and the value of “better-than-nothing goals.”

These techniques (and a few more tricks we like to keep handy) all contribute to feeling like your best self in and out of the office, when you’re in the middle of your busiest of weeks and when it feels like your normal routines have gone awry.

The tools are meant to help you get back on track and remind you that feeling good isn’t all or nothing; it’s possible to make tiny changes within the context of your daily life that add up to feeling better overall.
