Gear Roundup: Spring Running

Spring brings hope for warmer days (especially in the Midwest), but let’s face it, dressing for Spring is the worst. From rain to snow to seventy degrees and sunny, you need to be prepared with technical fabrics and layering pieces as the snow starts to melt, allowing us to take our workouts outdoors (finally!).

To help you avoid the infamous question, “What should I wear?” we stopped by our neighborhood Lululemon to see what’s in store for Spring. We got the rundown on the latest technical fabrics, detailing and fashionable spring colors and patterns that will compliment your fit style.

Take a look at a few of our spring Lululemon must-haves to transition your workouts outdoors:

Real Quick Singlet: This tank is made to move. Lululemon’s Swift Ultra Light fabric is airy, lightweight, and woven to provide airflow, plus the reflective details help you shine bright in low light. My personal favorite feature is the chafe-resistant flat seams that won’t rub you the wrong way on a long run. Opt for the tank in “black” so it can be paired with bright layering pieces and patterned leggings.

All Sport Bra: This bra is made for everything! The signature Luxtreme® fabric is four-way stretch, with flat seams for a very comfortable but supportive fit. The three strap detail is a perfect accent under any tank. Pick a solid, contrasting color like “ray” that’s interesting but matches a lot.

Real Quick Tight: These pants … I had to purchase after I tried them on! Made with Luxtreme® fabric with added Lycra® fibre, they’re cool to the touch and fit like a second skin. They’re equipped with the signature three-pocket waistband to stash all your essentials; a must for any running pant. These tights are so stylish in the “miss mosaic white/posey.”

Light Speed Long Sleeve: Whether you’re heading out for a 5k or a half-marathon, this lightweight top goes the distance to keep you cool. Not only are the strategically placed holes cute, but they actually provide venting for maximum airflow. The fabric is thin enough to layer under a jacket or as a stand-alone long sleeve that can be tied around your waist as your run heats up. The “cool breeze” color accents the black and white patterned tights, for a bold and colorful look on the trail.

Gather Me Slightly Jacket: The “very light flare” color is the perfect pop for spring. Plus, this layering jacket is made with Swift Ultra fabric treated to be water-repellent and comes with a packable hood. Rain or shine, you’re ready to grind.
