8 Coolest Hair Tools to Try Right Now

After spending the first 10 years of my career in the beauty industry, I’ll admit that it takes a lot to impress me now. That’s especially the case when it comes to hair tools. As someone with coarse, curly hair, styling my hair is a time-consuming endeavor — and I’ll often blow-dry and straighten my hair, only for my curls (and frizz) to reappear within a couple of hours.

Excitingly though, there have been a lot of great innovations in the hair tools category in recent years. Below, I’m rounding up the coolest hair tools you can use to transform your mane.

Best hair tools to try right now

1. RevAir Reverse Air Dryer: This cutting-edge hair tool is designed to dry, stretch, smooth, and lengthen all hair types in less time than a traditional blow-dryer/flat iron combo and with significantly less heat. It features patented technology that dries hair in the natural direction of the cuticle to help nix frizz and lock in shine. It’s an especially great hair tool for those with naturally curly, coily, frizzy, dense, and coarse hair.

2. Mane Addicts Triple Barrel Waver: From celebrity hairstylist (and Ouai founder) Jen Atkin comes this 1.25-inch triple barrel iron that creates creaseless, frizz-free waves without much effort. The waver is coated in ceramic, ensuring frictionless styling and smooth style and has four temperature presets to suit your needs. It also has a removable handle, which makes for easy packing.

3. Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer: Blow-drying can do a number to your hair, but you don’t have to worry about that anymore with this nifty gadget. Dyson’s latest foray into hair tools is this blow-dryer engineered to protect hair from extreme heat damage. It has intelligent heat control, meaning it measures the air temperature more than 40 times a second and regulates the heat. Plus, it comes with a variety of attachments, including a diffuser and styling concentrator so you can create many different looks.

4. Gussi Mane Squeeze 1-inch Titanium & Ceramic Flat Iron: Finally, a flat iron that does it all. This hair tool can be used to smooth, straighten, wave, or curl your hair. The titanium plates ensure uniform temperature, while the ceramic heater provides consistent heat. The 1-inch flat curve plates, meanwhile, adjust to hair density, making for easy gliding. In fact, you really only have to  make one pass for the ultimate in smoothness.

5. InStyler Max Prime Wet to Dry 1.25-inch Rotating Iron: If you’re tired of having to use multiple hair tools to achieve your desired style, then you’ll love this multitasker. It dries, straightens, curls, de-frizzes, and volumizes. It’s the only wet-to-dry styler on the market utilizing patented revolving technology to straighten or add curls and waves while drying your hair at the same time. You can expect to cut down your drying and styling time by half.

6. Beachwaver PRO 1-inch Curling Iron: Celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa created the Beachwaver to make curling hair so much easier. This pro version of her beloved curling iron rotates left and right (depending on which side of your hair you’re curling) and has a customized clamp so you’re not left with any kinks. It’s tourmaline-infused and has a protective ceramic rod to get rid of frizz and leave you with loads of shine.

7. Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer: This professional-grade hair dryer is made in France and is here to take your at-home blowouts to the next level. In addition to being a salon-quality blow-dryer, it’s also incredibly energy efficient thanks to the unique filtration system. It has a lightweight, ergonomic design with a curved handle for excellent comfort and control, along with eight heat, speed, and ion settings for versatile styling and smooth, shiny strands every time.

8. Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer: Chances are, you’ve seen this hair tool on your social media feeds. It’s super popular for good reason. The unique oval brush design pumps up volume at the root and creates full-bodied curls with just a single pass. It distributes air quickly and evenly and features ionic technology to dry your hair faster and cut down on heat damage. Plus, the mixed nylon pin and boar bristles help boost volume and create shine.
