aSweatLife DEI Statement

In 2020, I saw a need to spotlight equality and inclusion in the wellness industry. I accomplished this through various initiatives, writing several articles speaking to diversity, creating a recurring project that showcases the wellness journey of participants of different cultural backgrounds, and creating the BetterWithFriends committee inside aSweatLife which focuses on integrating diverse perspectives into everything aSweatLife does.

At aSweatLife everyone is welcome to join as an ambassador, no matter where you are on your wellness journey. Your race, gender identity, size, accessibility, and who you love does not factor into your right to live a healthy and fulfilling life. With recent requests from the current administration to end diversity programs, we are doubling down in support of fostering a diverse wellness community. Our primary focus this year is cultivating safe spaces for any and everyone to gather, use their voice, and showcase their story.

Again, despite some calls to end cultural recognition we at aSweatlilfe will be celebrating Black History Month and every culturally significant month as we have done for the past several years.

I will kick off the celebrations this month with an Instagram takeover of aSweaLife’s stories showcasing a day in my life and I welcome and encourage Black members of the wellness community to join me! Feel free to reach out with any ideas, or suggestions, or if you’d also like to showcase a day in your life this Black History Month.

Wishing everyone hope, positivity, and strength in the months to come.
