3 Brands to Elevate Your Next Dinner Party

Community and connection seems to be the theme for 2023, and what better way to bring people together than food? Whether you’re celebrating milestones or just need a reason to get together with your community or family, there’s something about vibrant meals that people put their creativity and soul into that can really bring connection and overall well-being to another level.

So, in a world where we’re often eating on-the-go, distracted, or working, let’s bring back long, two- to three-hour meals with your favorite people on a regular basis. You can laugh, connect, eat slowly, nourish your body, get away from your phone, and experience all the health benefits associated with this list.

While you can certainly do this simply and potluck-style, I’ve also gone down a rabbit hole of different brands to help romanticize slow eating and connection. Especially for certain milestones, this can really help you create more of an experience for your dinner party. Let’s take a look:

Brands to elevate your next dinner party

Big Night Shop

This New York City-based shop simply aims to bring joy to your next dinner party. Whether it’s olive- or pasta-shaped candles (they’re adorable), condiments, glassware, or olive oil, any of their products can help craft a unique and memorable vibe. Need a gift for a “host” in your life? Big Night has got you covered.

Island Creek Oysters

Oysters can really help a special occasion stand out, especially if you’re shucking them yourself. These oysters are harvested daily from Duxbury Bay, Massachusetts, and shipped overnight right to your home. You can learn a new skill with your friends or family, enjoy oysters with your favorite cocktail or hot sauce, and get an extra dose of zinc while you’re at it. They have smaller packages for a more intimate setting or even have a “Block Party” option if your crew is extra big.

Trader Joe’s

Looking to create your own charcuterie board for some pre-dinner snacks? Trader Joe’s has a ton of hidden gem products that can really help liven it up. They have a robust olive and cheese selection which you can cater to your preferences, but my personal favorites are the “Just a Handful of Pitted, Salted Manzanilla Olives” and the “Triple Cream Brie with Wild Mushrooms.”

They also have marinated artichokes, an assortment of dips, tinned fish, crackers, and of course fresh fruits and vegetables. It truly is a one stop shop — but we already knew this, right? Pro tip: look at the new seasonal items (especially when it comes to the cheese and dips) to make your board stand out.

Ready to entertain?

I hope this gets you excited to set the ambiance for your next dinner party. Nothing beats savoring delicious food, finding joy and creativity in food, and celebrating your favorite people. Cheers!
