The Fab Fit Take:

It’s officially May, so that means summer is technically approaching in around 53 days or so- but who’s counting? Well, you are  – at least, if you’re anything like me and a) struggling to remember the feeling of warmth and b) wanting to look my best for all my beach trips this summer.

Luckily, Fab Fit Chicago got access to a great new way to kickstart your summer shape-up, and it involves three of my favorite words: Gina (as in, the bubbly Nike trainer we love so much), Summer (self-explanatory), and Bootcamp (I’m a little masochistic about my workouts, okay? No pain no gain and all that).

Gina’s Summer Bootcamp uses an incredibly efficient format to ensure that you get the best burn for your time spent in the gym, which is something we all love once summer gets around and we want to spend our time playing outside instead of sweating away in the gym for hours. When Fab Fit Chicago previewed the bootcamp, Gina had set up six stations around the studio. Each station had a strength and a cardio format, and we did 45 seconds on with 15 seconds of rest, repeating each exercise twice before rotating stations. I think it took less than one station for me to start sweating and for my face to get “wow, did she suffer a third-degree sunburn?” red. In other words, it was great.

If the word “bootcamp” scares you, think twice. Gina is incredibly positive and motivating, and she is one of the rare trainers who truly makes you feel comfortable doing whatever level of exerices you feel comfortable with. Want proof? Her 60 year old parents are doing the summer bootcamp. If that’s not the most precious thing you’ve heard all day, you’re wrong.

Gina’s plan for the monthly packages also allows you to be flexible with your workouts. You can go as many times as you want during the week, and you can sign up for as many months as you want (which is really helpful if you’re going to be out of town a lot one month and wouldn’t be able to get your money’s worth).

Ready to sign up? Just call 773-325-4514 to sign up before May 16th! Seriously, that’s it. Make sure to leave your name and number if you reach voicemail, and get ready to buy that tank that says “Suns out, guns out.” You know you want it.
