6 Seasonal Trader Joe’s Items to Add to Your Grocery Cart This Summer
One thing is for sure — Trader Joe’s always keeps you guessing and surprising you with new products you never knew you needed. This summer hasn’t disappointed. There are plenty of options whether you’re entertaining or cooking for one. Also, pro tip — Trader Joe’s releases a print newsletter “The Fearless Flyer” a few times per year discussing all new seasonal items. Let’s check out a few of my favorites below.

Trader Joe’s summer 2023 items
Italian Tomato and Burrata Raviolini
Personally, I’m a big fan of TJ’s ravioli section. It’s really tough to find that type of variety anywhere else, and the new raviolis always just hit. This summer is no exception with the Italian Tomato and Burrata Raviolini.
From a dietitian standpoint, I’m currently loving the current trend of a pasta salad without the overemphasis of pasta. This could be tossed in arugula and fresh summer tomatoes with olive oil, lemon juice, a balsamic glaze, and a grilled protein — you’re welcome.
Chicken Breakfast Sausage Patties
I’m always looking to add high-quality protein for breakfast, and this new product is the perfect complement or alternative to eggs. These are pre-cooked, nitrate-free, and simply contain just chicken and spices (sage is a must for me in breakfast sausage). Convenient and tasty? Count me in.
The best salads have a variety of textures, and that almost always includes some type of crunch. I always encourage people to think beyond the croutons, and these snacks are an excellent option to diversify your salads. Some of TJ’s buyers had the opportunity to try mee krob in Thailand for themselves, which is a flavorful sweet and sour fried noodle dish, and decided to craft these little snacks. I could see this in a citrus-y cabbage based summer salad, but just a thought.
Super Sweet Marzanino Tomatoes
Again, I’m keeping with the summer tomato theme. This is a sweeter type of tomato grown in Italy and great as a base for tomato sauce or with chicken and artichokes in a sheet pan meal. As a cooler summer option, I envision this in a panzanella with fresh basil and sourdough.
To be honest, I’ve never had vegan poke, but it certainly looks like they’re doing this right. This one is primarily made out of beets, contains a flavorful marinade, and is great over a bed of rice or fresh greens. You can find it right in the grab-and-go section right by the wraps and salads. Consider this a Hawaiian-inspired convenience item that you’ll have on repeat.
Crunchy Jalapeno Lime and Onion
This is a truly versatile option with a summer punch of citrus, garlic, and spice. I really encourage you to get creative with this — but ideas that come to mind for me are adding it to a hummus, potato salad, seafood tacos, or fajita bowl.
Putting it all together
TJ’s comes out with new products monthly (not just seasonally). So, it’s safe to say there’s plenty more from where this came from, and summer items will continue to be released (there might even be new ones available as you’re reading this). Get your tote bags ready, and let us know what you think of these items!
