About this Event
Over the last few years, the natural wine movement has been growing in interest and availability. At the third of many Wine Wednesdays to come, learn about natural wines with The Purple Pig’s head sommelier, Alan Beasey. We’ll find out what makes a wine “natural” and discuss potential benefits of drinking wines that adhere to these standards. Taste some of Beasey’s favorites from importer Heritage Wine Cellars along with health-focused bites from FARE at this informal tasting. In addition, enjoy half-off wine bottles at Grand Central Bar as well as full dinner menus from FARE, Piggie Smalls and other Wells Street Market restaurants.
When: Wednesday, March 20th, starting at 5:30 PM
More about FARE: Founders Kasia and Britni believe a lot more can come from cooking with seasonal, local ingredients than just delicious, nourishing food. By working with like-minded farmers and partners FARE extends their reach to support an even broader community. A community that shares our same passion for sustainability, nutrient-dense wholesome food, less waste, and greater health for our bodies and the planet. Learn more about FARE here.
More about More about Alan Beasey: Beasey believes wine tastes best when it’s paired with great food and shared with friends. To him, a sommelier is not someone in an impeccable suit with an air of pretension, but a master of ceremonies with a bottle, ensuring that everyone has a good time. More about Wells Street Market: Set on the northern edge of Chicago’s Loop, Wells Street Market taps into the city’s best chefs, purveyors and artisans for its elevated take on an urban food hall. Visit their website to learn more here.
