VIBEUP Yoga: Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga involves synchronizing the breath, bandha and drishti with a progressive series of postures, producing internal heat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Instructor: Amy Beth, Yoga Now Yoga
The intersection of two high school classes catapulted Amy into her love of yoga which she still embraces today. In her suburban Boston high school English class, she studied Bhagavad Gita and as a physical education elective, she learned Sivananda yoga. The seeds were planted and the rest is history. For more than 20 years, Amy has dedicated herself to the practice, study and teaching of yoga, including training in the discipline of Ashtanga, studying under its founder Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (Guruji). In 1999, Amy received her certification to teach and it was influences like Guruji who had profound affects her teaching approach. Her students describe her technique as “loving, healing and gentle.” Inspired to share, Amy opened her own earthen oasis, Yoga Now, in the heart of the Chicago Gold Coast. Amy shares her passion for yoga and kirtan through classes, workshop and teacher training with the Chicago community.
