Thursday Night Rapha Open Ride

    Join us as we head to the northern suburbs of Chicago for a 42 mile ride. We will head north to the Skokie Lagoons and then down Green Bay Road for a mid-ride snack stop in Glencoe. The the ride takes us south following Green Bay Road before cutting over to Sheridan Road past the beautiful Bahai Temple, through the city of Evanston, and back into downtown. This is a great way to meet new fellow road riders and get in a few miles.

    Time: Meet at 9am, Ride at 9:30am

    Distance: 42 miles with a mid ride stop for coffee

    Pace: Pace is recreational yet spirited at times. Our rides have a “no drop” policy and we allow several chances to regroup.

    Route: See GPS here. From the Clubhouse on Milwaukee Ave, up Damen, to the Skokie Lagoons, then down Green Bay Road for a coffee stop at Glencoe Roast Coffee, and back down to the Clubhouse in the city.

    Terrain: Please note that while our rides stick primarily to the road, it is not uncommon for them to feature an off-road section.

    Requirements: For your enjoyment road bikes, helmets and foot retention are required. Please remember to bring flat changing tools and an extra tube. Riding snacks and water are also strongly suggested. TT bars are not allowed on any of our rides and RSVP is required.

    As a proud New Englander at heart, Dani loves the outdoors and anything maple-flavored. After graduating from the University of Michigan and living for a brief time in DC, she moved to Chicago where she developed a passion for fitness and biking. Dani's competitive nature is no secret, whether she's trying to do yoga at all of the state capitol buildings (19 so far!) or seeing how far she can push herself in group fitness classes. By day, she nerds out behind the computer as a researcher and data analyst for a health care consulting firm, where she works to ensure all individuals have timely access to high quality health care services.
