Using the breath as the foremost guide through the body, this class explores the fundamental building blocks of advanced postures and movements. This is yoga, blended with hints of acrobatic and Thai Massage, and a few other specialized movement techniques. Designed to accommodate students of all levels (no experience needed) and embraces body types of all kinds. Taught by Derrick Caldwell and Crissy Collins.

Derrick Caldwell took his first yoga class in 2011 by way of a harmless bike accident accident and a convincing conversation. After the passing of his great grandmother in 2013 who was a teacher, Derrick realized he wanted to be a teacher too. He knew that what he teaches should come from his experience as a dedicated student. Derrick is a certified yoga teacher. He continues to practice daily Ashtanga Yoga and hopes to travel to India to deepen his studies.

Aside from working at Currency Exchange Café, Crissy is also a certified Thai body worker and has been practicing yoga for the past ten years. She hopes to build a supportive wellness community on the south side for people of color.
