Begin the day with Fitness! Island Style from 9:00-10:00am:
Haki Kino! Break a Sweat!
A rigorous traditional workout of upper, core, and lower body exercise. A concentrated, intensive workout of three 20-minute rotations representing three cultures: Hawaiian, Maori, and Tahitian. The exercises target isolated muscle groups. The workout is enhanced through use of traditional implements. Fitness! Cool down from after your workout with a Health Brunch: Sponsored by KVKHCC from 11:00am-12:00pm. Delicious coffee provided by Kaua`i Coffee.
Then, spend your afternoon learning about Digital Hawaiian Databases that can help you access language, cultural practices, hula, chant, photos, and much more. There are over 10 digital databases that are free and open to the public. In this interactive workshop, you’ll have a chance to learn how to use these databases, where to acccess them, and the types of information you will find there. Bring your wifi capable device, laptop, tablet, or even your phone, and get online with us learn about all these databases and stay connected with your Hawaiian culture no matter where you are. 12:30 – 4:00 PM.
