aSweatLife ambassador Community Guidelines
Welcome to The Hub, the home for everything you need as an ambassador!
The reason you applied for this program and the reason we thought you’d be such a great ambassador is because you align with two characteristics: you’re down to make friends and you’re ready to get after (or you’re already going after) big goals.
Outside of those two pillars, there are a lot of things that make the ambassadors different – and that’s what makes this community so, so special. You’re from different places, you have different career paths, you’re different ages, you love who you love, and you choose to move your bodies in all sorts of different ways.
In short, we think you’re really special and together, you’re creating a friendlier, more empathetic world that says, “you can sweat/sit/run with us.” Because of all of that, we’re counting on you to respect each other and to uphold these guidelines with us.
Try your best and ask for help (do what you can and raise your hand when life gets hard)
We always say that you get out of the aSweatLife ambassadorship what you put in. We also know that there are times in life when the load gets heavy. We are here for you in all of those seasons. If you can make it to everything, awesome. If you aren’t able to come up for air at work for a few weeks, we get it.
But we also know that life throws its curveballs, and your community is here for you during those seasons too. If you’re struggling as a new parent, you lost your job, you’ve lost a family member, you’re going through something medically taxing – ask the group for help and they will show up for you in ways you could never anticipate.
Be welcoming to everyone (be inclusive) and stand up for each other in situations that call for it.
Regardless of gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, religion, body size/shape, or who we love, everyone is welcome here. These are the things that make us special. Get to know the people who are different from you, ask questions – we promise it will enrich your life.
There will be zero tolerance of any hate speech and if you see any hate speech, please alert us and stand up for each other if you feel able to do so.
Be courageously kind (Ask, “do you want to eat lunch with me?” (or the internet equivalent) if you see someone standing by themselves. )
Include people who may not know their way around yet. Be inviting and welcoming, always. This is a place to make more friends and expand your network of connections outside of people who have your exact job, are your exact age and went to your exact college. Start collecting friends now.
Be respectful (Be Thumper – aka – if you don‘t have something nice to say, don‘t say anything at all)
Be honest and be respectful. Be quick to apologize if you’ve made a mistake (we all do). Ask questions before jumping to a conclusion.
And above all else, if you wouldn’t be proud to have your mom, grandma, or boss read the thing you are about to say to someone else, simply do not say that thing.
What happens if someone is disrespectful?
If you see something say something. You, as ambassadors, are each other’s best advocates. If someone on our communication channels or outside of them is disrespectful to another ambassador (or another human for that matter), feel empowered to say, “that’s not cool.”
If you feel unsafe, bullied or disrespected. We are here to make your experience wonderful, safe and encouraging. Please email [email protected] if you feel unsafe talking to another ambassador about their behavior by yourself. We’ll do our best to work to resolve any disagreements on a person-to-person basis.
What don’t we do here?
We don’t do diet talk or before and after photos. This community is a place where we focus on what we can add to our lives, like how we can make friends and feel stronger – mind, body, and soul. In aSweatLife’s community spaces, we don’t talk about diets or post before and after photos. Your own social channels, are all you, boo boo.
We don’t do MLMs here. We want this community to be a place where we can support each other, but because of the “network” part of network marketing (or MLMs or pyramid schemes) we want to take it off of the table. This is not a place to make a sale.
We reserve the right to eject any person from the community who uses hateful language, body shames, threatens or purposefully creates an unwelcoming environment for any other ambassador (or human for that matter.
