Six Fall Snacks to Put in Your Pantry Right Now

Snack time! It’s your favorite time as a kid at school and even more appreciated as an adult. Whether you are on the go and looking for something healthy or want something easy to serve to friends, here are some better-for-you snacks that are easy to enjoy guilt-free.

Feel Good Foods

As someone who isn’t a fan of frozen apps or processed foods, I was surprised at how not only tasty Feel Good Foods are but also how they don’t make you feel guilty after eating them. Chef-inspired, they’re gluten-free and non-GMO. My personal favorites are the Vegetable Potstickers. They also heat up nicely in the microwave, which I can’t say about most frozen potstickers. The veggies are really flavorful and don’t taste frozen.

They also have Cauliflower Crust Snack bites with chicken, three cheese and uncured pepperoni. These are great to keep in the freezer for guests, games and other gatherings to serve easily and quickly.

Pasta Snacks Penne Straws

Penne Straws are made with durum wheat semolina flour and farro, which are higher protein grains and are more nutrient-dense than a classic chip. They’re also gluten-free and made with all-natural ingredients including white and lentil beans. With a crispy texture, four flavors are available including Lemon Garlic, Mac ’N Cheese, Marinara, and Cinnamon Churro (I love a dessert-y chip).

Pasta Snacks recently launched Bow-Tie Minis that are just 90 calories per .75 oz bag in Marinara, Mac & Cheese, and Apple Cinnamon flavors. And yes, the bags have Disney characters on them. But you can be an adult and still enjoy these on the go.

LivTru Wellness Turmeric H20

Not technically a snack, but a refreshing treat, when I tried LivTru, I didn’t have the highest hopes. This drink contains a proprietary complex that has a uniquely bioavailable form of turmeric, making it better than a supplement or a latte. So it’s great to have post workout.

While I’m a fan of the benefits of turmeric (it’s great for inflammation, detoxification, and muscle health), the flavor doesn’t always do much for me. But I really liked LivTru. This drink is a great way to get your dose of turmeric without the spice. Available in Strawberry Lemon, Lavender, Peach Ginger (which has a little more of a kick, but it’s not super spicy), it has a fruity, but not too sweet or artificial flavor.

A friend of mine noted it’s great to mix with vodka…

The Real Coconut Flower Tortillas

These organic tortillas are grain and gluten-free, vegan as well as Paleo. Want to make yourself a little sandwich without bread or lettuce wraps (which are always just a little bit wet)? They’re not as large as other wraps, which makes them great for snacking or bringing a wrap or two on the go. I like to pile on grilled veggies with a little O’Dang Hummus Roasted Red Pepper Dressing.

They’re sold in a refrigerated tortilla section of my local Whole Foods (I live in LA, so there is a whole case devoted to refrigerated tortillas), so you may have to ask at your local store.

Pro tip: Heat them for ten seconds in the microwave before wrapping.

Trader Joe’s Marcona Almonds

These fancy almonds are in a bag that zips. If plain almonds are a little boring, these Spanish-grown nuts are such an upgrade. Prior to trying these, I’ve only ever had Marcona almonds on a fancy cheese plate at a restaurant (and they never give you enough, which is really the only problem you can have with almonds). Now they are a staple in my home.

It’s important to have a little self-control with these but because they’re savory and flavorful and are more filling than a plain almond will ever be. In addition to Truffle, they’re available in Rosemary flavor.

Candy Pop Popcorn With Twix

Hosting a party and want to bring a sweet treat? Candy Pop with Twix is one of those snacks/desserts that can make everyone happy. It’s popcorn coated with Twix and drizzled with chocolate and caramel. At just 160 calories per serving, it’s a far better alternative to cake. It also wouldn’t be so awful to put a serving or two in a reusable bag and sneak into a movie theatre. And yes, Candy Pop is just as delicious as you’re imagining—does not disappoint!
